Linguist – U.S. Military Operations (Bahrain)

Join Amentum’s global linguist team and make your language skills count in real-world missions. Amentum is seeking skilled and dedicated linguists with exceptional English proficiency to support U.S. military operations in Bahrain. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will provide vital linguistic, cultural, and analytical insights to advance mission success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide contract linguist support during U.S. military operations, including interpretation for interviews, meetings, and conferences.

  • Transcribe and analyze verbal communications.

  • Research, scan, and evaluate foreign language materials for essential information.

  • Offer cultural perspective and understanding of historical, political, sociological, and economic aspects relevant to the region.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Excellent command of Somali and English (ILR proficiency level 3 in both languages).

  • Valid U.S. passport or willingness to apply upon acceptance.

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance or eligibility to obtain it before deployment.

  • Willingness to work in Bahrain and aboard Navy vessels for short-term missions.

  • Availability for shift work and extended hours supporting 24/7 operations.

  • Strong understanding of local culture and customs.

  • Must pass a medical examination and meet Army MOD16 standards.
