Duties and Responsibilities Overview
This role focuses on managing and preparing high-quality shop drawings while coordinating with project and production teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Project Review and Planning

  • Review project details based on the project kick-off information provided by the setting-out manager.

  • Prepare a detailed schedule for all project drawings.

Shop Drawings Management

  • Manage the preparation and submittal process of shop drawings.

  • Check all materials, details, and ensure proper incorporation into detailed shop drawings.

  • Clarify any discrepancies with the line manager.

Specifications and Material Requirements

  • Review project specifications and obtain clearance for any discrepancies between specifications and estimated details.

  • Identify project material and sample requirements.

Communication and Coordination

  • Raise and manage RFIs to the line manager for timely communication and clarification with the project manager.

  • Coordinate with the factory to ensure efficient detailing and high-quality outputs.

Quality and Technical Detailing

  • Prepare precise shop drawings considering acceptable joinery practices, techniques, and material wastage.

  • Take into account site-related parameters such as access and assembly requirements.

Material Knowledge and Procurement

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of materials including technical properties, density, mechanical properties, homogeneity, available sizes and thicknesses, seasonal lead times, and other constraints.

  • Source hardware accessories and optimize materials where possible.

  • Raise material requisitions to procurement in a timely manner.
