About the Role

As a Senior Backend Developer (Tapster), you will design and develop robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems and APIs. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions while ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and microservices using Java and Spring Boot
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and DevOps teams to deliver robust solutions
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and security vulnerabilities
• Ensure seamless integration with payment gateways, acquirers, and issuers
• Apply financial domain knowledge, including settlements, payouts, chargebacks, and transaction lifecycles
• Stay updated with fintech trends, technologies, and financial compliance frameworks (PCI-DSS, KYC/AML)
• Participate in architectural discussions and make well-informed technical decisions

Requirements & Skills

• 5+ years in backend development with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
• Strong understanding of financial domain concepts (acquirers, issuers, transaction settlements, payouts)
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and MongoDB; experience in data modeling and performance tuning
• Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and caching (Redis)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities
• Previous experience in a regulated financial environment or fintech/banking product
