Motor Winding & Brake Technician | VINCI Energies Oil & Gas – Bahrain

Role Overview

Responsible for disassembly, inspection, winding, rewinding, maintenance, and repair of electric motors and industrial/automotive braking systems. Ensure motors and brakes operate at peak performance while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Disassemble electric motors for maintenance or repair and inspect for damage, wear, and electrical faults.

  • Remove old windings and perform precise winding/rewinding of stators and rotors.

  • Test continuity, insulation resistance, and electrical integrity using instruments like megohmmeters, multimeters, and growler testers.

  • Repair or replace motor parts such as bearings, brushes, and insulators; perform preventive maintenance.

  • Inspect and maintain industrial and automotive braking systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric brakes.

  • Diagnose faults in braking systems and implement corrective actions.

  • Balance rotors, perform alignment checks, and ensure compliance with operational safety standards.

  • Open motor terminal boxes, check terminal tightness, earth connections, and cooling fans.

  • Measure motor winding resistances and insulation resistance; report unsatisfactory values to supervisor.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of motor and brake maintenance activities.

Profile / Qualifications

  • Diploma or ITI in Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in plant or similar environment with motor winding and brake maintenance.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical motor systems and industrial/automotive braking systems.

  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
